The Aces announced Thursday that Smith will be sidelined for the rest of the season after suffering a non-contact left leg injury during Sunday's game versus the Tempo, per Chelsea Leite of TSN.

It's a big blow for the Aces ahead of the postseason as they attempt to defend their title. Smith started all 38 of her regular-season appearances for Las Vegas, so a spot in the first unit is now open. Brianna Turner appears to be the most likely candidate to replace Smith in the starting lineup going forward. Smith had bounce-back production in several areas during the 2026 campaign, averaging 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in 24.3 minutes per game.
